Text: Acts 16:22-34
Key Verse: Acts 16:30 “….. Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
Introduction: One of the hardest tasks the “modern” church has is also a question: “How do we reach individuals and get them to believe in Jesus?” The Bible says that we are to go out and compel people to hear the good news of how to be saved.
Answer: Acts 16:31 “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved and your house.”
1.) Tell of God’s love being the cause for Jesus being sent to give forgiveness and eternal life.
2.) Tell people about Jesus:
1. Tell about his birth.
2. Tell about his life.
3. Tell about his death.
4. Tell about his resurrection from the dead.
5. Tell about his promises.
3.) The call of nonbelievers to repentance.
1. Admit that you are sorry for your sins.
2. Ask Jesus to come live in your heart and change you into a new person.
Conclusion: Some will sneer, some will become curious and want to know more, some will believe.
Only God can soften the heart of stone. Others may have given up on you, or you may have given up on yourself, but Jesus will not give up on you. Give him a try. He is able to keep you until the end of this life and beyond. Just believe and take Him at His Word!
